Last November, Sue and I went back to Nepal for another visit.
We arrived to a really warm welcome from our Nepali family, Khimnats and Santi who were this time joined by Khimnats lovely mother.
The next day, we arrived at the school in Pame with weighed down with 35kgs each of donated clothes and school supplies. The clothes were carefully distributed by the teachers at the school, making sure that everyone received something.
In addition to the clothes, we had bought donated coloured paper and pencils over with us as well as a few stickers and Sue’s art supplies. The older children were particularly excited to receive their English exercise books which had been donated and which we used in each of our English lessons for the 2 weeks we were there. The children were excited to see us and were very happy to engage with our English lessons mixed with arts and crafts.
During the first week, the tailor came to the school to measure up all of the 65 children for their new uniforms which as usual are paid for by the money raised during the year and are really appreciated by the children and their parents.
In additon to teaching at Pame school and supporting them with warm clothes, teaching materials and school unforms, we donated some money to Krishnas school, Janajagrit secondary school. At this school this time we had enough funds to buy each of the 150 student a sweater, although we hope to be able to contribute more in future. We had a very warm welcome from Krishnas school and enjoyed being able to teach an English class to a very bright and engaged class of 16 year olds.
During this visit we were also honoured to be able to go to a local wedding and spend time celebrating and dancing with our new friends.
As always it was very sad to leave but we will be back next year.
